Finish line...but still at the begining of the race

Well the KRTY Biggest Loser contest is officially over.  I had my last weigh in yesterday morning and was down another 3 lbs for a total of 12.6 pounds in 4 weeks.  They are announcing the winners on the air on Friday morning.  I am kind of hoping they inform us prior to that though.  I think I will come in third which will allow me to have another month on the program.
Going into my visit yesterday I was not sure what to expect, where they just going to continue to give us medicine or give us some suggestions about how to continue outside the program.  I was very thankful that they did both. We were given suggestions on how to increase our food intake properly while weaning off the appetite suppressant.  I also will always have the Greenlite website to assist when I need it. So whether or not I continue with the Greenlite program, I know I can continue a healthier, happier and lighter lifestyle. One of the things the Dr. and I discussed was how it was to compete against other people and get frustrated when you were not doing as well as others.  Apparently last year they did the contest in more of a Team situation and after trying it this way this year realized that the support and backing of the other people you were competing against was much nicer for everyone, so hopefully they will make some changes next year to a more friendly competition.  Of course I will keep everyone updated on the official results later this week.

Muffin Tops and Milk Shakes!

Now that I am almost done with my 4 weeks on the Greenlite program, I am really wishing I had done some body measurements before we started.  My body shape has certainly changed for the better with my 10 lbs.  I commented to my husband that my Muffin top has gotten considerably smaller.  I would love to know how many inches I lost throughout my body along with the pounds.
The first three weeks of this program were great in the fact that I was not feeling deprived of sweets and breads, but this week oh my gosh! Everything I have seen on tv or heard people talking about I want.. Milkshakes, french fries, cheeseburgers.  I wanted it all... So it was a difficult last week with a few stumbles. Tomorrow is our final weigh in.  Promise to update as soon as soon as possible with the results.

My secret shame

Now that I am so far into the contest I feel like I am not sure I actually want to win. Don't get me wrong I am truly thankful for this opportunity and the jump start it has given me and my family to live a healthier lifestyle. I am doing really well on the program and I am not really having any issues with the limitations or the weekly check-ins.  I just wish that Greenlite had an office in the East bay.  Trying to set aside the 2 1/2 hours it takes me to drive to their office have my consultation and drive back is difficult with my work schedule, not to mention I don't have an unlimited amount of Personal/sick leave to take in order to do the visits.  So that is my grump for the week.  6 more days to go till the final Weigh in.

3 weeks down 1 to go

I went into Greenlite for my weigh in on Monday.  It was one day earlier than normal, but great results.  I am down an additional 3.5 lbs for a total of 9.7 lbs in the last 3 weeks.  This has been a really good and upbeat week which is what I really needed after last week. The ladies at Greenlite are really supportive and so happy with how well I am doing.  They want me to keep doing what I have been for this last week.  I think one of the things that also helped me this week was the change in my work out routine.  I really love the Biggest Loser Power Walk DVD I have been doing.  It has 4 different 1 mile walks and I have only done the first 2 so far.  I am looking forward to trying the more difficult ones later this week.  Thanks again everyone for all the support.

On a positive note

The day I sent in my request to take part in the KRTY contest, about 1 month ago when I weighed myself at home  I weighed 171 lbs. Today on my scale I weighed 156 lbs.  So while it may not be showing a lot of loss on the Greenlite scale.  I look great at home:-)

Re-Energize!

So I am trying to be as positive as possible this week.  I bought myself a new work out DVD and I am so excited.  I have done it for the past two mornings and boy it is so much better than the Wii Fit step routines I was doing. It is the Biggest Loser's Power walk video. A low impact walking cardio routine that I can get 2 miles done in about 35 minutes which is about all the time I have in the morning to get my workout into.  It is even designed to have you complete a marathon in 3 weeks if you follow the routine and schedule.  I am hoping this change will be the little boost I need to get the pounds off this week.

Frustrating week

The second week of this program was full of ups and downs but mostly frustration.  I was so excited to see how much weight I lost.  Then was so depressed to see, that I lost the least of the 6 contestents.  Through it all I still stuck to the food plan and managed to get some exercise in 6 of the 7 days.  As the week went along though, I was not seeing any changes on the scale.  I went for my weigh in yesterday afternoon and was quite dismayed to find out I only lost 1.5 lbs.  I think on any "regular" diet that would be pretty exciting but lets face it this one is a little more intense and I want bigger numbers!!! The staff at Greenlite is not sure why I am holding on to my weight but I am really going to buckle down and focus this week and try to increase my exercise to get some good numbers next week.  Thanks everyone for all the support and kind comments and email, it really helps a lot.
