Day 1

Went to my initial consultation yesterday at Greenlite Medicine in Mtn view to learn all about the program.  Wow, it is a little more than I was anticipating. But I guess we should get to my stats before I talk more about that.  I weighed in at 265.9, which I was actually a little excited about because the last time I weighed my self at home 2 weeks ago when I entered the contest I was at 271.  So I figure I already have a nice jump start.  They do a full body analysis.  the good new was I have a lot of good lean body mass ( muscle).  But way to much fat...as if I didn't already know that one.  my total body fat was 52.1%.  The health guidellines want you between 18-28%. This is what they really want to focus on because they want to make sure you are keeping the muscle and losing the fat. I wont lie learning about the program was a little overwhelming,  I was imagining some sort of all around moderation and reduction, but this is a high protein (lean) and almost no carb program. The only carbs realy come from your fruits and vegetables.  Their goes my brown rice and oatmeal.  It is very limited on calories as well, which is why the give you an appetite suppresent at the beginning so you are not always feeling hungry, until your stomach shrinks some.  It is also why they have you monitored weekly and see the Dr. They give you lots of information on what type of foods are recommended and even some shopping lists for Trader Joe's.  Once I left the center and was driving back to work, I went into a bit of a panic mode.  Trying to figure out what food we have in the house that I can eat for the rest of the week that will fit into the program until we go grocery shopping again.  I decided to take it easy for the rest of the day regarding the food and map out what I would do for the next day and start tracking everything tomorrow.   My plan is to get up early tomorrow to also get a little more activity into my daily schedule.  For now I am going to use my Wii fit and some of those activities. Wish Me luck!
